And here we see the penultimate example of ignorance and hypocrisy.
Remember kids, the first steps towards adulthood aren’t turning the other cheek and politely disagreeing with others, its starting to spew venom at others to let them know just how wrong they are.
You must reduce all people into nameless beings in which you actively are aware you are stereotyping, without making the realization that people are complex and have different emotions or thoughts than you.
All things must be looked at like a business transaction and you should only ever do things that benefit you. Because science.

How were you dressed?
What’s that supposed to mean?
It means where you dress provocatively. Showing a lot of cleavage… See-through blouse?
What the fuck does it matter how I was dressed? They tore it off of me.
But did how you dress make those guys think they can have sex with you? Did you put on a show?
What the hell are talking about? You saw me at the hospital. You think I asked for that? Is that what you think?]
The Accused || 1988
This is just a scene I love to highlight for the sole purpose of saying that no matter how a woman dresses, she never asks to be raped. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be considered rape.
This movie draws attention to a misconception the general populace has, and something that is used against men and women alike whilst they testify in court; why is this question even asked? Does any sexual assault victim ever request to be raped? No.
So why does it matter what they were wearing when the crime took place?
Answer: it doesn’t.
The Accused is a really hard movie to watch but a really important one and it’s Jodie Foster at her best.
The Accused is loosely based on Cheryl Araujo’s story and even the trailer needs a trigger warning.

& some women - women of color, trans women, disabled women, poor women - are MUCH more likely to experience violence than white/cis/abled/class privileged women (and marginalized women have less recourse in the legal system to have anything done about the violence done to them.)
All women exist in a culture with a specter of violence surrounding them at every turn, but let’s not let aggregate level statistics allow us to believe that we face equal risks.
but no no, feminism is no longer relevant, amirite?
I’ve no reason not to believe this, but I’d still like to see a source.

The National Republican Congressional Committee wants to make sure there are no Todd Akin-style gaffes next year, so it’s meeting with top aides of sitting Republicans to teach them what to say — or not to say — on the trail, especially when their boss is running against a woman.
